Autumn Lyricism
1. Autumn Poem
All through the summer
Unable to prune even a word
Today leading a mangy calf uphill
To cut down its neck
With a well-polished sword of silence
The entire mountain is stained with blood
Turning into purple maple.
2. Frost Fall
The plentiful field awaits harvest
Poet's hearts so vacant
Imitate frost-covered autumn mendicants
On a quest for poetry filling heaven and earth
Streaks of frost sweeping a faraway thousand miles
The wind is bitter
On autumn nights I cannot write poetry.
3. Sword
A strand of eyelash wafts in the sky
Glowing all blue!
Note: In a dream I found the above inscription
in a sword made in 1350.

가을 서정
1. 가을詩
여름내 말 한 마디 제대로 고르지 못해
비루먹은 망아지 한 마리 끌고 올라와
오늘은 잘 닦은 침묵의 칼로 목을 치니
온 山이 피로 물들어 빨갛게 단풍 들다.
2. 상강(霜降)
가을걷이 기다리는 가득한 들판
시인들은 가슴속이 텅텅 비어서
서리맞은 가을 거지 시늉을 내네
천지에 가득한 詩를 찾아가는 길
가도 가도 머언 천리 치는 서릿발
詩 못 쓰는 가을밤 바람만 차네.
3. 칼
눈썹 한 올 하늘에 떠서 푸르게 빛나고 있다!
*1350년에 만들어졌다는 칼을 꿈에 선물 받고 들여다보니
위의 명문이 새겨져 있었음.
